Our July 1st presentation is by Sarbani Bose – from Ei Square and she will be sharing tips on ‘How to be a customer centric business to drive growth’.
Businesses collect data daily on their customers but hardly use them in an actionable way to make business decisions.
This session will help you think of ways your business can make most of that data and will ask: • What is the most important asset in your business – your customers.
• What does their data tell you about what is important to them.
If your answer is “I don’t know” – how can you be a customer centric business.
How can you grow.
How can you drive decisions based on your customers.

Click here for the Zoom link *********************************************************************************************** Network a different way On Wednesday June the 17th at 8am, the Hogs Back Business Group will be holding our next virtual meeting on Zoom.
As well as giving attendees the chance to network with other business owners over video, this virtual networking session is all about how to market your business effectively in the current climate.
‘Before you sharpen your pencil, your message needs a point‘ “Keep marketing during the crisis ‘experts’ hollered from behind their keyboards!” What does that mean exactly when demand for many businesses goods and services has dried up.
Pre-crisis, many business owners craved the time to work on their business rather than in it.
Well, what a perverse way for a wish to be granted.
Our June 17th presentation is by Nick Shrimpton – from Sixth Sense Marketing and he will be talking about what marketing a business owner should be doing as the wheels of the economy start turning again, covering: • Working up your category of 1 • Honing target markets • Growing audience followings now • Considering what really is great service • Starting with who you know The responses to these subject areas will put you in a healthy position to know what you what say and to whom, and that is the essence of successful marketing.

He started his career in 1996 with a graduate programme at Unilever, which provided him with excellent training on brand strategy and positioning.
As part of the programme, he also became a qualified accountant.
After Unilever, Andy worked for Coca-Cola Great Britain & Ireland, based in Hammersmith, where he ran the Dr Pepper and Sprite brands for the UK and territories.
In 2002, he set up a generically named Thai restaurant with his wife, Pranee, and after their first child, got a job running the combined marketing for TUI, owners of Thomson and First Choice.
In 2009, the couple opened their first Giggling Squid in Hove.
For the first two years, Andy was commuting six hours to Luton every day whilst Pranee managed the two restaurants and juggled the kids.
It became clear to both that the combination wasn’t sustainable and Andy left his job in 2011 to focus his attention on growing the Giggling Squid business.
With both Andy and Wa behind it, the fast-growing family of Thai restaurants has gone from strength to strength, with Andy agreeing a £6.4m deal with the Business Growth Fund (BGF) in 2015.
In the following four years the brand has grown rapidly to 34 sites, with latest openings in Leamington Spa and Weybridge Wednesday 6th November 2019 – 9.30am – 4.00pm Chessington School, Garrison Lane KT9 2JS Building on the success of the inaugural Chessington Business Expo held last year, Kingston Chamber of Commerce are back to celebrate the success of businesses in the south of the borough.
